Give every dollar a job
A budget that works is one where your income minus every category equals zero, nothing left unassigned, nothing overspent. This builder makes that loop visible: as you set amounts, the chart and the "left to allocate" figure update instantly, so you can see exactly when your plan balances.
How to use it
- Enter your monthly take-home income at the top.
- Add a category for each meaningful slice of spending, start with fixed costs, then goals, then flexible spending.
- Adjust amounts until "left to allocate" reaches zero. If it goes negative, you're over budget and something has to give.
- Read the percentage column to sanity-check the shape, housing creeping past 30% of income is a common warning sign.
